This podcast series is aimed at raising awareness about family and sexual violence, with a specific focus on elder abuse within South Asian communities. Each episode builds on the themes presented in recent community workshops and presentations organized by Age Concern Auckland, ensuring ongoing support and outreach beyond in-person events.
The content is tailored to South Asians aged 65 and older but is relevant and accessible to listeners of all ages within the community.
MSD, the Ministry of Social Development, has been working with co-design and community mobilisation experts to support the engagement
process to ensure effective development of innovative solutions to prevent violence and promote safe and healthy families, communities,
and relationships in South Asian communities in Auckland. This trial aims to address violence before it happens (primary prevention) or in
its early stages (early intervention) to ensure that families and people can remain safe and live violence-free lives.
